Attorney Goel Advocates for Immigration Reform
On February 8, 9, and 10, Brenman Immigration Law Firm's Associate Attorney, Abhinav Goel, participated in the advocacy efforts of Immigration Voice, a grass roots non-profit organization.
Immigration Voice (IV) acts as the interface between more than 500,000 immigrants and the American executive and legislative. It has advocated for its members for more than a decade to fix the American immigration system. IV's February Advocacy was held in Washington, D.C., and involved around 350 Congressional meetings with around 100 Immigration Voice members from across the country.
As an active member of IV, Attorney Goel assists the organization in its legal research, policy drafting, and advocacy. He is currently on the H-1B work visa, and will face the tremendous delays - even up to more than twenty years - in getting his own employment based permanent residence.
Brenman Immigration Law Firm believes that green card backlogs caused by per-country caps are harmful not only to more than 500,000 immigrants stuck in this backlog, but also affect the American worker and our economy adversely. We are proud to assit IV's efforts pro-bono and look forward to a bill from the U.S. Congress that will resolve these issues.
