"Becoming a citizen IS a big deal. . . ." writes a recently naturalized U.S. citizen.

We are proud to announce that our firm's advise recently assisted Mrs. Judy Harrelson in obtaining U.S. citizenship. Mrs. Harrelson has written an article describing the naturalization process. She writes, "In August last year I filled out the paperwork for citizenship, plenty of it by the way, detailing my time in the USA, ensuring I would be a good model citizen, as well as documenting any travel I’d made outside the country. I had the papers reviewed for accuracy by a wonderful immigration attorney, Lisa Brenman of Brenman Immigration Law Firm in Chapel Hill. I mailed them in and waited. After another trip to England I received the first interview, then waited again. More paperwork. Another trip to England to spend time with my Mum. In January this year I had my final interview! I’d reviewed the American history book for my civics test which I passed. Woohoo! It was time for the final wait, hopeful for the big day".
In her article, Mrs. Harrelson eloquently describes the reason why many of our clients decide to naturalize after obtaining permanent residence inside the U.S. - "Becoming a citizen IS a big deal. It gives the right to vote, to run for office, to serve on a jury and most importantly to call yourself an American, by choice. " We are pleased that our consultations provided valuable information that enabled Mrs. Harrelson's naturalization application to be approved.
U.S. naturalization can be tricky and technical, and sometimes a consultation with an experienced immigration attorney can provide the applicant with the direction and advice needed to become a U.S. citizen.
